When preparing your house for sale ask your self this question. What will make the first impression when a potential buyer comes to see your house? The answer may surprise you.

The first impression made on a potential buyer is made by what is called "curb appeal". Curb appeal is how your house appears to the buyer as he or she first arrives at the property to take a tour. A number of different things affect curb appeal. First, is the first yard mowed and neatly trimmed? Are the sidewalks and curbs clear of clutter? Do the shrubs in front of the house look sharp and well attended? Is the front porch clean and neat, and is the front door nicely painted.

Wise sellers know to look after these details. Some even go so far as to have the sidewalks and curbs pressure washed before they put the house on the market. Just a little investment in these small areas can greatly affect the first impression of buyers.
